SeaWorld San Antonio
Living most of my life in Florida, I grew up visiting theme parks and it was always such a wonderful memory. After I had my son, I wanted him to be able to experience the same, he loves animals and has been obsessed with any underwater creature!
When I realized that Sea World San Antonio was only a short drive from Austin, I knew I wanted to take Nico to see it! So we made it into a day trip, we packed what we would need for the day and off we went, in about 1.5 hours we arrived.
Parking was easy and close despite being summer vacation. When we arrived at the park, we decided to tackle the shows first, we attended the Beluga and Dolphin show, later the Killer Whales and our all time favorite the sealions which is always cute and funny.
The great thing about SeaWorld San Antonio is that they have a toddler/children park within the park where you’ll find appropriate rides for younger children and a large splash area. For the little ones that love Elmo and his crew, there’s also a Sesame Street Birthday Parade that runs until August 11th, to celebrate 50 years of Sesame Street.
But the adults aren’t forgotten, there are numerous roller coasters and other rides to choose from. The one that really got the adrenaline going for me was the Steel Eel Rollercoaster! It was exhilarating, with every drop I would feel my body come off the chair! I was amazed at how short and quick the lines were, which gave us enough time to enjoy all the aquariums.
For lunch, we opted for something that would be easy, so we chose Rosita’s Café due to being an all you can eat pizza and pasta for $14.99 with soft drinks included, and you already know that no kid ever says “no” to pizza!
If you ever dreamed of getting up close and personal to some of these animal you can plan an encounter experience where you would be able to interact up close with dolphins, penguins, sea lions or the beluga whale. It’s important to reserve your encounter ahead of time.
The park remains open until 9pm and you can finish off the night watching the fireworks spectacle.
Many times when we think theme parks, Orlando comes to mind to many, but it’s great to know that it’s not the only place that you can find parks. By choosing to visit SeaWorld in San Antonio, Tx you can avoid the crowds, get to experience the Lonestar State and of course some amazing BBQ!
With summer vacation being in full steam, there are multiple summer specials going on, you can enjoy a single day pass for $32.99 or a 3 day pass to 2 parks (SeaWorld & Aquatica) for $54.99, you seriously can’t beat that. You can purchase your tickets here.
Now, being a mom I’ve learned that you have to pack anything and everything because you just never know when you’ll actually need it! Here’s a list of things I don’t leave home without when going to theme parks, hope it helps guide you in not forgetting anything.
